University of Gdańsk becomes the first university in Poland with the Healthy Campus certificate
The University of Gdańsk has reached an important milestone, becoming the first university in Poland to receive the prestigious "Healthy Campus" certificate. This international distinction is awarded by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) to institutions that show exceptional care for the well-being of their students and staff.
The "Healthy Campus" program aims to promote a healthy lifestyle within the academic environment. To obtain the certificate, the university had to meet a series of rigorous requirements. The assessment covered areas including physical activity, healthy nutrition, disease prevention, and care for the mental health of the academic community.
The University of Gdańsk, one of the largest public universities in the country, currently educates over 25,000 students. University authorities emphasize that striving for this certificate was a natural step toward improving the quality of life on campus. Thanks to new initiatives, students have gained better access to sports activities and health-support programs.
Winning this distinction places the University of Gdańsk among the leaders promoting a modern approach to education, where learning goes hand in hand with care for physical and mental fitness. The university announces that the certificate is not the end of its efforts, but rather a motivation for the further development of pro-health programs for the entire academic community.
