Polish Chamber of Civil Engineers warns: changes to construction law needed
The Polish Chamber of Civil Engineers (PIIB) is sounding the alarm that there are serious loopholes in current construction regulations. Experts point out that unclear regulations can negatively affect the safety of new investments and design processes across the country. The organization is calling on legislators to urgently update the law to align it with modern technical standards.
According to the engineers, the biggest problem lies in imprecise provisions regarding professional liability and building acceptance procedures. The lack of clear guidelines leads to misunderstandings between investors, contractors, and designers on construction sites. This can lead to delays in commissioning facilities and increase project implementation costs.
Representatives of the Chamber emphasize that the current legal status is not only complicated but also outdated. Many regulations were created at a time when construction technologies looked completely different than they do today. Modern construction requires flexibility, which is lacking in rigid and often contradictory paragraphs.
The Ministry of Development and Technology has already announced an analysis of the submitted comments. Experts hope that cooperation between the government and the engineering community will lead to the creation of transparent law. Stable regulations are crucial for the development of the Polish construction sector and for ensuring the safety of residents of new homes and office buildings.
