Record Holiday Prices in 2026: Greece, Turkey, and Egypt Most Expensive in History
Poles are increasingly planning their holidays well in advance to ensure the best choice. However, the latest data from travel agencies shows a worrying trend for tourists' wallets. Prices for trips in the summer of 2026 to the most popular destinations have reached record levels, which could significantly impact the travel plans of many families.
The largest price increases affect the three favorite countries chosen by Poles: Greece, Turkey, and Egypt. These destinations have enjoyed immense popularity for years due to guaranteed weather, short flights, and a wide range of hotels with "all-inclusive" services. Unfortunately, in the upcoming season, tourists will have to pay significantly more for these amenities than in previous years.
Tourism industry experts note that these three countries are consistently among the top five most frequently chosen destinations. Despite the high costs, demand for foreign trips remains high. Travel agencies explain the price hikes by citing rising air transport costs, higher energy prices, and general inflation affecting the service sector across Europe and the Middle East.
Although prices are at record levels, specialists advise not to delay booking until the last minute. Early holiday planning, known as "first minute," often allows for finding slightly better deals or taking advantage of additional insurance. It is also worth considering less popular destinations, which may become a cheaper alternative to traditional resorts in the Mediterranean basin.
