Poland and France strengthen cooperation in nuclear energy
The first meeting of the Polish-French steering group for nuclear cooperation was held in Paris. The event took place on July 10 and marks a significant step in the relations between the two countries. Government representatives discussed joint plans for the development of the nuclear sector in Poland.
The main objective of the new group is to coordinate technical and political activities. France, which has relied on nuclear power for its energy for years, wants to share its experience with Poland. For the Polish side, this is an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and support in building the country's first nuclear power plants.
Cooperation is not limited to infrastructure construction. Experts will also discuss personnel training, technological safety, and scientific research. Poland is pursuing an energy transformation, and nuclear energy is intended to become the foundation of a stable energy system that will replace old coal-fired power plants.
France is one of Poland's key partners in this process. The choice of this partner underscores the importance of European cooperation within the European Union. Both sides emphasized that modern nuclear energy is essential for achieving climate goals and environmental protection.
Further consultations of the steering group are planned for the future to monitor project progress on an ongoing basis. The development of nuclear energy in Poland is a long-term investment aimed at ensuring energy security and lower electricity prices for citizens.
