Poland plans domestic production of Patriot systems
Poland is currently in advanced talks with the United States regarding cooperation in the defense sector. The main goal of the negotiations is to transfer part of the production of modern weaponry, which Poland purchases from American companies, directly to our country's territory.
The talks primarily concern the Patriot air defense system. It is one of the most important elements of the Polish security system, used to protect airspace against enemy missiles and aircraft. Through this cooperation, Polish defense plants could participate in the manufacturing process of components for these advanced systems.
Experts emphasize that such a decision would be highly beneficial for the Polish industry. Domestic production means not only new jobs for engineers and specialists, but also faster access to spare parts and better opportunities for equipment maintenance. It would also increase Poland's independence in crisis situations.
Currently, both sides are finalizing the technical and legal details of this agreement. Although the talks are at an advanced stage, final decisions regarding the scope of production and the specific plants that will handle this task will be announced in the near future.
Strengthening cooperation with the USA in the field of military technology is a key element of the strategy to modernize the Polish army. If the plans are realized, Poland will become one of the most important centers for the production of defense systems in this part of Europe.
