Higher tolls on the A2 motorway: What is changing for Polish drivers?
Starting September 11, drivers traveling on the A2 motorway must prepare for higher travel costs. The road operator has announced the introduction of price hikes that cover various vehicle categories. These changes represent another financial decision impacting the budgets of those who use this route.
New rates mean that for every 50 kilometers of the route, we will pay between 1 and 10 zlotys more than before. The final amount depends on the type of vehicle being driven. The increase applies to sections managed by a private concessionaire, which is a frequent topic of discussion among Polish drivers.
Experts point out that the rising costs of maintaining road infrastructure are the main reason for these changes. Although higher tolls may be a burden for many, road operators argue that these funds are necessary to ensure safety and a high standard of travel on one of the most important arteries in the country.
It is worth remembering that the situation on Polish roads is dynamic. While prices are rising on the A2, work is underway on other routes, such as the A4, to improve traffic flow. Drivers should check updates regularly before setting off on a trip to avoid surprises at motorway toll gates.
