Intensive checks on Polish roads: Police fight against road pirates
The Polish traffic police have launched a nationwide operation, the main goal of which is to improve road safety. Officers have joined forces with specialized SPEED groups to more effectively catch drivers who break traffic regulations.
SPEED groups are police units that specialize in pursuing individuals who significantly exceed the speed limit. Thanks to cooperation with local traffic departments, patrols are now present on a larger number of routes, both in cities and on expressways.
Police officers emphasize that excessive speed remains one of the main causes of road accidents in Poland. Officers use modern patrol cars equipped with video recorders, which allows them to quickly identify and document offenses committed by drivers.
The operation is preventive in nature, but the police have announced strict consequences for those who ignore speed limits. Drivers must expect high fines and penalty points if they are stopped by a patrol while driving dangerously.
Authorities are appealing to all road users to be prudent and follow the regulations. The increased number of checks is intended not only to punish offenders but, above all, to reduce the number of tragic incidents on Polish roads.
