Fraud in the "Clean Air" program and disinformation

In today's summary, we report on arrests related to fraud in a popular subsidy program and the scale of disinformation on the Polish internet. We also examine the latest declarations from the head of NATO regarding Poland's security and the alliance with the USA.

The European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) has detained two individuals suspected of defrauding nearly 800,000 euros (approx. 3.4 million PLN) from the "Clean Air" program. One of the detainees represented contracting companies carrying out thermal modernization projects. The investigation concerns fraud in obtaining subsidies intended to help residents insulate their homes and replace old furnaces.

In addition to financial abuses, online disinformation remains a challenge, which, according to a new report, 77% of Poles have already encountered. The study "Disinformation through the eyes of Poles" shows that 79% of society considers fake news to be a serious problem and a deliberate tool for influencing the foundations of the state.

Regarding military security, NATO chief Mark Rutte praised Poland for its record defense spending. During a visit to Ankara, he emphasized that the US commitment to protecting allies remains unchanged, which is crucial for the stability and defense of the country's borders.
