Donald Tusk calls on Spain to tighten border controls
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has appealed to the Spanish authorities to propose a tightening of border protection policies. His call is linked to the serious migration crisis that has affected the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in North Africa. This situation has sparked a discussion about the security of the European Union's external borders.
The Polish Prime Minister indicated that Spain should consider solutions similar to those Poland has implemented on its border with Belarus. Tusk emphasized that effective border protection is crucial for maintaining stability within the European community and for combating illegal migration.
The Polish government's proposal is based on experiences related to the construction of barriers and increasing the presence of uniformed services in areas particularly vulnerable to attempts at illegal border crossings. According to the Prime Minister, such an approach is necessary to prevent the use of migrants as a tool in political conflicts.
The issue of border security remains one of the most important topics in the European Union. Many member states are currently looking for new ways to seal their borders, which makes Polish experiences a subject of international debate.
It is not yet known how the government in Madrid will react to the Polish Prime Minister's proposal. However, the situation in Ceuta remains tense, and European leaders have announced further discussions on common migration policy in the coming months.
