Poland joins the European IRIS2 project: A new era of satellite connectivity
Poland has officially become part of an ambitious European project to build a satellite constellation called IRIS2. This decision means that our country will actively participate in the creation of a modern communication system that is of key importance for the security of the entire European Union.
The IRIS2 project involves placing a network of satellites into Earth's orbit to provide independent and secure communication. It is Europe's response to growing challenges in the field of space technology and the need to protect data from external threats. Thanks to its own constellation, member states will not have to rely on solutions provided by entities from outside the continent.
Participation in this venture opens up new development opportunities for the Polish space sector. Polish companies and research institutes will gain access to advanced technologies and will be able to take part in the process of designing and manufacturing satellite components. This is a chance to strengthen Poland's position as a significant player in the European space technology market.
The IRIS2 system is intended to serve not only government and military purposes, but also to support the development of digital services for citizens. Providing stable and fast internet access in places where traditional networks fail is one of the program's priorities. This investment is therefore expected to directly influence the improvement of communication quality across Europe.
Joining IRIS2 is an important step towards building the digital sovereignty of the European Union. By engaging in this project, Poland confirms its interest in modern technologies and its desire to actively shape the future of European security in outer space.
