A grand celebration of history: Gniezno prepares for the Royal Coronation 2026
Gniezno, the first capital of Poland, is already preparing for a unique event that will take place in 2026. The city plans to organize a grand historical reenactment called the "Royal Coronation." This event aims to remind residents and tourists of Poland's rich state traditions and the role of Gniezno in building Polish identity.
Organizers promise a very rich program that will transport participants back to the Middle Ages. The main attractions will include spectacular warrior battles, knightly tournaments, and equestrian shows. Thanks to these reenactments, spectators will be able to see what life was like in past centuries and how preparations for the most important state ceremonies were conducted.
In addition to combat demonstrations, a special medieval camp will be set up in the city. This will be an opportunity to take a close look at ancient crafts, cuisine, and the daily activities of people living in those times. The entire event will be complemented by early music concerts and numerous educational workshops that will present the history of Poland in an accessible way.
This event is aimed not only at history enthusiasts but also at families with children and tourists from all over the country. In this way, Gniezno wants to promote its cultural heritage and encourage Poles to discover the places where our nation was born. Preparations for the celebrations are underway, and a detailed schedule of attractions will be published in the coming months.
