Internal tensions in the Law and Justice party: order to leave associations
A serious internal conflict is underway in the Law and Justice (PiS) party. The leadership of Poland's largest opposition group has issued an official directive stating that all party members must resign from membership in other politically oriented associations.
This decision is an attempt to organize party structures and strengthen discipline within the group. The party authorities argue that members should focus exclusively on activities carried out within PiS to avoid conflicts of interest and ambiguity in political messaging.
However, not all politicians have received these guidelines with enthusiasm. Some activists, including allies of the former prime minister, are resisting and do not agree to leave the organizations in which they currently operate. This situation reveals deep divisions within the party, which has been trying to redefine its strategy since losing power last year.
Political observers point out that this dispute could affect the future unity of the party. In the near future, it will become clear whether the PiS leadership will manage to enforce its order, or if the resistance of some members will lead to further tensions and possible departures from the group.
