Bożena Borowiec new MP: to replace the tragically deceased Łukasz Litewka
Important personnel changes will take place in the Polish parliament. The Marshal of the Sejm has issued an official decision regarding the filling of a vacated parliamentary seat. Bożena Borowiec will become the new MP, taking the place of the tragically deceased Left politician, Łukasz Litewka.
Łukasz Litewka was a very recognizable figure, especially thanks to his social activities. As an MP for the Left, he organized numerous charitable actions and helped those in need. He died tragically in April this year at the age of 36, which caused a great stir in the world of politics and among his voters.
According to the provisions of the Polish Electoral Code, in the event of an MP's death, their seat does not remain vacant. The mandate passes to the next person on the same electoral list who obtained the next best result in the last elections. In the district where Litewka ran, that person is Bożena Borowiec.
Official information about this decision has already appeared in Monitor Polski. This is a necessary legal step that allows a new person to enter the Sejm. Bożena Borowiec will now have to take the parliamentary oath to be able to fully exercise her rights and duties in parliament.
This procedure allows for the continuity of the Sejm's work, despite the tragic circumstances. Although the new MP takes up her mandate at a sad time, her task will be to continue parliamentary work and represent the interests of the citizens who voted for her electoral list.
