Internal tensions in the Law and Justice party: order to leave associations
Significant organizational changes have taken place within Poland's largest opposition party, Law and Justice (PiS). The party leadership has issued an official directive requiring all members to resign from their affiliations with other politically oriented associations.
This decision is directly linked to an escalating conflict within the former prime minister's political circle. The party leadership is striving for full consolidation of its ranks, aimed at preventing the formation of independent factions or initiatives that could weaken the unity of the party.
Not all party members agree with these guidelines. Some politicians associated with the former head of government are resisting, arguing that their activities in these associations are important for building local structures and supporting ideas close to the party. This situation demonstrates that intense discussions regarding the future shape of the party are ongoing within PiS.
Political observers point out that these actions may be an attempt by the current leadership to regain full control over the party. In the coming weeks, it will become clear whether all members will comply with the new rules or if further divisions within the opposition will emerge.
