Polish firefighters return home after mission in Spain
The Polish group of firefighters that has been supporting rescue operations in Spain for the past few days is concluding its mission. The officers from the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, who were sent to assist following the tragic floods, are preparing to return to the country.
The decision to end operations was made after assessing the situation on the ground. The Polish rescuers, who specialize in operations under difficult conditions, took part in clearing the aftermath of the disaster and helped secure areas flooded by water. Their presence was part of the international aid provided to Spain by European Union countries.
During their stay in Spain, the Polish team collaborated with local emergency services. Thanks to specialized equipment and experience in working during natural disasters, the Polish firefighters played an important role in restoring safety in the most affected regions. Their work was highly praised by representatives of the Spanish authorities.
Currently, equipment is being packed and logistical preparations for the return transport are underway. The firefighters are expected to set off for Poland soon, where, upon reaching their units, they will undergo a standard mission debriefing procedure. Their return marks the end of Polish participation in direct field assistance in this region of Spain.
