University of Gdańsk becomes the first Polish university to receive the “Healthy Campus” certificate
The University of Gdańsk has achieved an important international success. The university has been officially awarded the “Healthy Campus” certificate, becoming the first higher education institution in Poland to join this prestigious group.
The “Healthy Campus” program is an initiative led by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). Its main goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle, physical activity, and the mental and physical well-being of students and university staff around the world.
To receive this distinction, the University of Gdańsk had to meet a number of rigorous requirements. The university underwent a detailed assessment process that evaluated sports infrastructure, the range of health-promoting activities, and measures supporting health in everyday academic life. The quality of nutrition and the availability of medical care on campus were also taken into account during the process.
For the academic community, which numbers over 25,000 students, this certificate is a confirmation of high standards. The university has proven that it cares not only about the academic development of its students but also about their physical condition and mental health, which is crucial in the modern education process.
This achievement places the University of Gdańsk at the forefront of Polish universities that care about the quality of life of their members. University authorities announce that the certificate is not the end of their efforts, but rather a motivation to further develop health-promoting programs and create a friendly environment for everyone associated with the university.
