Polish National Foundation clarifies the matter of publication funding
The Polish National Foundation (PFN) has addressed the controversy surrounding the funding of a report authored by Mróz-Gorgoń. Representatives of the foundation admitted that the institution covered the printing costs of the document, which has sparked public debate.
In an official statement, the PFN emphasized that the foundation did not participate in the substantive evaluation of the content included in the report. Representatives of the organization noted that their role was limited solely to technical support, namely financing the release of the publication in printed form.
The foundation explains the situation by citing the "extreme haste" that accompanied the document's creation process. This explanation is intended to shed new light on the reasons why the PFN decided to support the project without conducting a detailed scientific analysis of the theses contained within it.
This matter has become a subject of debate regarding the transparency of spending by foundations funded by the state budget. Experts point out that every public institution should exercise particular caution when supporting publications that may be perceived as controversial.
At present, no decisions have been made regarding potential consequences for those responsible for this decision. The situation remains under the scrutiny of the public, which expects further clarifications concerning the principles of the PFN's cooperation with authors of external studies.
