Success for Polish industry: completed foundations for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm
Smulders Projects Poland has officially completed work on the production of SIP (Secondary Steel Structures) for the Baltica 2 project. This is an important step in the development of Polish wind energy in the Baltic Sea. These components are essential for the safe operation of offshore wind turbines.
Project Baltica 2 is a joint venture between PGE and Ørsted. It is one of the largest renewable energy investments in Polish history. Thanks to the involvement of Polish manufacturing plants, the domestic industry is gaining unique experience in building modern energy infrastructure.
The structures produced at the plant in Żary will be shipped directly to the Baltic Sea. They will provide key support for the foundations upon which the massive turbines will be mounted. The entire investment aims to increase the share of green energy in the Polish power system.
The completion of this stage of work confirms that Polish companies are ready to handle complex offshore projects. Cooperation with international industry leaders allows for technology transfer and the creation of new jobs in the green energy sector.
The completion of the steel component production is a significant milestone for the entire construction schedule of the Baltica 2 farm. The investors plan for the farm to start supplying clean energy to Polish homes in the coming years, which will significantly impact the country's energy security.
