Out of concern for border security, an informal summit of the presidents of Poland, the Baltic states, and Romania has begun in Jurata (a town on the Hel Peninsula). The leaders are discussing the strengthening of regional protection, which is of key importance for the stability of NATO's eastern flank in the face of the ongoing war.
The situation in the region remains tense after Polish intelligence services warned of provocations planned by Russia. At the same time, the President of Ukraine reported a strike on the Russian Titan-Barrikady plant (a manufacturer of rocket launchers) in Volgograd, and within Russia itself, a former military commander publicly threatened Vladimir Putin with a rebellion.
