Investigation into technical grain from Ukraine still ongoing
The prosecutor's office in Rzeszów is continuing proceedings regarding so-called technical grain that was imported into Poland from Ukraine in the past. This case has sparked significant emotion among Polish farmers and consumers in recent years, raising questions about food safety and the quality of products entering the market.
Technical grain is a product that, by its intended use, should not be used for human food production or animal feed. Although shipments of this type of goods are no longer flowing from Ukraine to Poland in an uncontrolled manner, law enforcement agencies must clarify all the circumstances surrounding previous deliveries.
Investigators are checking whether irregularities occurred during import and whether this merchandise was sold unlawfully. A key element of the investigation is determining whether the companies importing grain for technical purposes actually used it in accordance with their declarations, or whether it was diverted to mills and bakeries.
This case remains an important topic in public debate, as it concerns the protection of the Polish agricultural market and the health of citizens. The prosecutor's office states that the proceedings are complex and require time to thoroughly analyze the documentation of all suspicious transactions.
At this moment, there is no information regarding a swift conclusion to the investigation. The public is awaiting the final findings of the prosecutors, which are expected to clarify the scale of the practice and identify those responsible for any potential violations of the law.
