Well-known shopping center from Olsztyn moves to the world of Minecraft
The popular computer game Minecraft is gaining new Polish accents. A group of fans has decided to recreate a well-known site from Olsztyn in the virtual world – the shopping center at 26 Tuwima Street. The designers are striving to map the appearance of the building, which is one of the largest of its kind in the city, as accurately as possible.
The Tuwima 26 shopping center opened in 2014 and has enjoyed great popularity among Olsztyn residents ever since. The facility houses many retail stores and service points. The creators of the virtual copy emphasize that constructing such a large and complex building in the game requires time and great precision.
Minecraft is a game that allows users to build almost anything out of virtual blocks. Thanks to this, players from all over the world create copies of famous landmarks, entire cities, and even public utility buildings. The project from Olsztyn is another example of how technology connects with local architecture.
Work on the virtual shopping center is still ongoing. The project's authors hope that their work will allow other players to get to know Olsztyn from a completely new, digital perspective. It is an interesting initiative that shows how modern games can promote local places on the internet.
