New Cybersecurity Regulations: Thousands of Polish Companies Under Scrutiny
Important changes to online security laws are being introduced in Poland. The amendment to the Act on the National Cybersecurity System (KSC) aims to better protect the state against hacker attacks. The new regulations will affect thousands of companies and institutions operating across the country.
According to the Ministry of Digital Affairs, the new regulations could apply to as many as 38,000 different entities. These include not only large energy corporations or banks but also smaller companies providing services crucial to the functioning of society. So far, about 200 enterprises have already registered in the new system, meeting the initial requirements.
The main goal of these changes is to increase the resilience of Polish infrastructure to digital threats. In an era of an increasing number of internet attacks, the state wants to ensure that the most important systems are well protected. The new law imposes an obligation on companies to promptly report any incidents and to use modern security technologies.
The introduction of new regulations is a process that requires time and preparation on the part of businesses. Experts point out that maintaining cybersecurity is now essential for the stability of the entire economy. Companies that ignore the new regulations must expect legal and financial consequences in the future.
