Internal changes in the Law and Justice party: politicians must leave associations
The Law and Justice (PiS) party, currently the main opposition force in Poland, has introduced new rules for its members. The party leadership has issued an official directive stating that activists must resign from their membership in other politically-oriented associations. This decision is intended to streamline party structures and strengthen discipline within the organization.
However, the new guidelines have sparked disputes within the party. Some politicians, including close associates of the former prime minister, are expressing opposition to these changes. According to media reports, some activists do not want to give up their activities in organizations they have helped build over the years. This situation shows that intense discussions are currently underway within PiS regarding the future direction of the party.
Political experts note that such actions are an attempt to consolidate the environment following the lost parliamentary elections. The party's leaders want to avoid the dispersion of votes and influence, which is intended to help in preparations for future electoral challenges. For many party members, however, this decision is a difficult choice between loyalty to the central authorities and their existing political projects.
At this moment, it is unknown what consequences await those who do not comply with the new rules. The party leadership, however, has announced that it will consistently enforce the implemented regulations. Observers of the Polish political scene will be closely watching how this internal conflict affects the unity of the largest opposition party in the coming months.
