Experts warn: disinformation following missile incidents
In recent days, security experts have drawn attention to an intensification of disinformation activities on the internet. This phenomenon is particularly visible following incidents involving missiles falling near the borders of Ukraine and Poland. Specialists emphasize that an increasing amount of false information is appearing online, aimed at causing anxiety among the residents of our region.
According to reports, pro-Kremlin social media accounts are actively spreading false theories. They claim, among other things, that Ukrainian forces deliberately manipulated the flight trajectory of the missiles in order to draw NATO countries into a direct armed conflict. Experts note that these narratives have no basis in fact and are an element of information warfare.
The goal of such actions is to undermine trust in official government communications and international institutions. The spreading of lies is also intended to sow discord in societies and weaken the support that Western countries provide to Ukraine. In crisis situations, disinformation spreads much faster than reliable news, which poses a serious challenge to digital security.
Specialists appeal to the public to exercise particular caution when using social media. They recommend verifying information through trusted sources and avoiding the sharing of unverified content that may come from suspicious accounts. In an era of armed conflict, critical thinking is the most important skill for every internet user.
