Middle East Tensions, Changes in Polish Politics, and Important Warnings for Citizens
The situation in the Middle East is becoming increasingly tense. US President Donald Trump reported that Iran is responsible for shooting down an American Apache attack helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz. In response to this incident and other threats, US forces conducted a series of self-defense strikes, targeting Iranian air defense systems and radar stations. The American administration emphasizes that these actions are aimed at protecting their units in the region.
Concerning events are also taking place in Russia. A bombing occurred near Moscow, killing an officer responsible for ammunition at the Russian Ministry of Defense. An explosive device was planted under his car in the town of Balashikha. At the same time, media reports indicate the installation of special anti-drone nets near Vladimir Putin's residence in Valdai. This is likely part of the "Spiderweb" operation, which is intended to protect important facilities from aerial attacks.
New initiatives and analyses are appearing in Polish politics. Jacek Sasin announced the creation of the "Poland First" association, which is intended to unite PiS parliamentarians and support Przemysław Czarnek's campaign. Meanwhile, new CBOS polls show that Poles are reflecting on the future of the current governing coalition. Many voters believe that the parties forming the government should consider a joint start in the next parliamentary elections scheduled for 2027.
Important changes also await the Polish justice system. The First President of the Supreme Court has convened a meeting of the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS) for June 11. The main goal of the meeting will be to elect a new chairperson of the Council. This is a significant step after the Sejm recently elected 15 new judge-members of this body, which sparked great interest from the media and politicians.
