Poland plans to introduce a new tax for tech giants

The Ministry of Digital Affairs has published a draft of new regulations that propose the introduction of a digital tax for the world's largest technology companies operating in Poland. According to the proposal, these corporations would be required to contribute 3% of their revenue to the state budget. This is a significant change aimed at leveling the playing field in the digital market.

The new law is primarily intended to target global giants that generate massive profits from online activities but have so far paid relatively low taxes in Poland. The Ministry emphasizes that the goal of the project is to fairly tax the income generated by these companies within our country.

Experts point out that similar solutions are already being used in many other European Union countries. Implementing such a tax in Poland could bring additional funds to the budget, which would be allocated to the development of national digital infrastructure and support for Polish entrepreneurs in the modern technology sector.

The draft bill is currently at the consultation stage. Government representatives have announced that they will hold discussions with interested parties to ensure the regulations are transparent and compliant with international standards. The final form of the act will be known after the completion of legislative work in parliament.
