University of Gdańsk becomes the first Polish university to receive the “Healthy Campus” certificate
The University of Gdańsk has achieved a significant international success. The university has been officially awarded the “Healthy Campus” certificate, becoming the first higher education institution in Poland to join this prestigious program.
The “Healthy Campus” program is an initiative led by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). Its primary goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle, physical activity, and to care for the mental and physical well-being of students and university staff. The certificate confirms that the university meets high standards in creating a friendly and safe academic environment.
The University of Gdańsk is one of the largest and most important public universities in the country, educating over 25,000 students. Obtaining this certificate is the result of long-term efforts by the university authorities, who prioritize the development of sports infrastructure and support for the health of the entire academic community. The certification process evaluated, among other things, sports offerings, the availability of healthy food, and preventive programs.
This distinction places the University of Gdańsk among global leaders who promote health as a key element of education. University authorities announce that the certificate is not the end of their efforts, but rather a motivation to continue implementing health-promoting solutions on campus.
