Vladimir Putin rejects Ukraine's proposal and defines war goals

Russian President Vladimir Putin has officially rejected the latest peace proposal presented by the Ukrainian side. During his recent speech, the Kremlin leader made it clear that the terms offered by Kyiv are unacceptable to Moscow. This decision demonstrates how difficult it will be to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict in the near future.

Putin argued that Ukraine's proposals do not take the current situation on the front into account. According to the Russian president, any peace talks must consider the territories that Russia currently controls. Moscow maintains the position that Ukraine and the Western countries supporting it are not yet ready for real negotiations that would respect Russian security interests.

In his speech, Putin also indicated what is currently the main goal of the military actions. He emphasized that the priority for the Russian army remains taking full control over the Donbas region in the eastern part of Ukraine. According to his words, protecting the population there is a key task that must be accomplished before any potential end to the fighting.

The Ukrainian side holds a completely different view. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly stated that a just peace is only possible after the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the entire territory of Ukraine, including Crimea. Kyiv believes that surrendering any land to Russia would be a reward for the aggressor and an incentive for further attacks in the future.

Currently, both states present completely contradictory positions, which makes it impossible to start a constructive dialogue. Military experts predict that the lack of agreement will lead to further escalation of fighting in the east and south of the country. The international community is watching the development of the situation with concern, fearing that the war could last for many more months or even years.
