Polish satellite EYCORE-1 transmits its first radar images
During this year's MSPO defense industry trade fair in Kielce, a breakthrough achievement of the Polish space sector was presented. The company Eycore showcased the first-ever radar images of the Earth's surface captured by their own satellite, named EYCORE-1.
SAR technology, or synthetic aperture radar, allows for the observation of the planet regardless of weather conditions or time of day. As a result, the satellite can effectively monitor terrain even when the sky is completely overcast, which is a significant advantage over traditional optical cameras.
The presentation of these images at the Kielce trade fair is an important step for the Polish space industry. It demonstrates that Polish companies are capable of independently designing and building advanced devices that can be used for both civilian and defense purposes.
The development of indigenous satellite technologies is of great strategic importance for Poland. Through such projects, the country gains independent access to data from orbit, which allows for better crisis management, infrastructure monitoring, and support for national security operations.
The success of the EYCORE-1 mission is proof of the growing potential of Polish engineers. In the near future, further work on the development of satellite systems can be expected, which will strengthen Poland's position in the international space technology market.
