The end of the single-function building era: the time for flexible architecture is coming
The modern real estate market in Poland is undergoing a significant change. Experts note that the era of buildings designed for only one purpose is slowly coming to an end. So-called time-proof architecture, which focuses on flexibility and the ability to easily remodel interiors, is gaining increasing importance.
Developers and architects are increasingly planning facilities in such a way that they can be easily adapted to the changing needs of residents or tenants. This means that a building currently serving an office function could, in the future, be converted into residential or commercial space, for example.
This approach stems from growing ecological and economic awareness. Instead of demolishing old facilities that are no longer needed in their original form, owners prefer to modernize them. This saves building materials and reduces the amount of waste, which is beneficial for the natural environment.
Space flexibility is becoming a key asset in the real estate market. Investors are more willing to choose projects that are resistant to the passage of time and changes in market trends. As a result, buildings can serve local communities for many decades, regardless of how our ways of working or living change.
