Poland a leader in the European Union: gas storage facilities almost completely full
Poland has reached the highest level of natural gas storage filling in the entire European Union. According to the latest data, national reserves are 96 percent full. This result significantly exceeds the average for the community's member states.
Such a high level of reserves is the result of intensive efforts by the government and energy companies, which in recent months have taken care of the country's energy security. Thanks to this, Poland is fully prepared for the upcoming heating season, even in the event of difficult weather conditions or problems with raw material supplies.
Experts emphasize that such a large amount of stored gas puts Poland in a very favorable position compared to other European countries. In the face of EU regulations regarding energy solidarity, Poland may be asked in the future to support neighbors who have smaller reserves of the raw material.
This situation shows how much Poland's energy strategy has changed in recent years. Investments in infrastructure, such as the gas terminal in Świnoujście and new gas connections with neighboring countries, have allowed for independence from supplies from the east and ensured stability for Polish consumers.
Currently, Polish gas storage facilities constitute a solid foundation for national security. Authorities assure that they are monitoring the situation on an ongoing basis to maintain a high level of reserves throughout the winter period.
