Poland plans permanent presence of 15,000 US troops
The Deputy Minister of National Defense has announced plans regarding long-term military cooperation with the United States. According to the Polish government's objectives, a target of 15,000 American soldiers is to be stationed in Poland in the coming years. This is part of a strategy to strengthen the security of NATO's eastern flank.
Currently, several thousand US soldiers are already in Poland, stationed at various bases across the country. Increasing this number is intended to improve defense capabilities and ensure a faster response in the event of potential threats. The cooperation involves not only the presence of troops but also joint exercises and the modernization of military infrastructure.
The decision to increase the number of American forces is the result of talks held at the government level and within the structures of the North Atlantic Alliance. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense emphasize that the presence of US troops in Poland is a key deterrent and guarantees greater stability throughout the entire Central and Eastern European region.
The planned changes will be implemented gradually over the next few years. The Polish side assures that the infrastructure necessary to accommodate a larger number of soldiers is being prepared successively. These investments are aimed at ensuring appropriate conditions for American units, which will rotationally support the Polish armed forces.
