Artificial intelligence needs vast amounts of water. Will Poland benefit from this?
The development of artificial intelligence (AI) requires not only advanced processors but also enormous water resources. Servers that process data for AI systems generate a great deal of heat, which is why they must be constantly cooled. Water is therefore becoming a key element of technological infrastructure all over the world.
Experts point out that the demand for water could become a serious barrier to the further development of this technology. It is estimated that building the appropriate water infrastructure for data centers will cost between 10 and as much as 58 billion dollars. Technology companies must now look for locations where access to water is stable and secure.
This challenge opens up new opportunities for Poland. Our country has adequate water resources and stable energy infrastructure, which makes it an attractive location for investors building data centers. If Poland makes proper use of its potential, it could become an important point on the map of the European AI sector.
In summary, the global technological race depends not only on digital innovation but also on natural resources. For Poland, this is an opportunity to attract foreign capital and strengthen its position in the modern economy, provided there is wise management of available water.
