Tech giants sign agreement on artificial intelligence safety
The heads of the world's largest technology companies met at the White House to sign a special declaration regarding the development of artificial intelligence (AI). This document is a voluntary code aimed at increasing safety and accountability in the creation of new technologies.
Signatories have committed to implementing self-regulation mechanisms. Companies want to ensure that AI-based tools are developed in a way that is ethical and safe for society. This is a response to growing concerns regarding potential risks associated with rapid progress in this field.
Although the declaration was signed in the United States, it has global significance, including for Poland. Polish technology companies and public institutions are increasingly using AI solutions provided by these same corporations. The standards set in Washington may therefore influence how artificial intelligence will function in our country.
Experts emphasize that voluntary commitments are only the first step toward legal regulation. In the future, more detailed rules can be expected that will apply worldwide, including in the European Union. The goal of all these actions is to find a balance between innovation and user protection.
