Poland celebrates the 104th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw

On August 15, Poland celebrates one of its most important national holidays – the Polish Armed Forces Day. On this day, we commemorate the historic Battle of Warsaw of 1920, which is known as the "Miracle on the Vistula." This event was of key importance not only for Poland but also for all of Europe.

The Battle of Warsaw was the decisive clash in the Polish-Bolshevik War. Thanks to the courage of Polish soldiers and the strategy of their commanders, the Polish army managed to stop the Bolshevik march to the west. This victory allowed Poland to defend its newly regained independence, which our country had fought for just two years earlier, in 1918.

Celebrations of this holiday take place all over the country. In Warsaw, a grand military parade is traditionally organized, during which residents can see the most modern equipment of the Polish army. In many cities, there are also solemn masses, the laying of flowers at monuments to heroes, and concerts of patriotic songs.

This holiday is an opportunity to thank soldiers for their daily service to the security of the state. Poles proudly hang national flags, reminding themselves of the value of freedom and the sacrifice of previous generations in the fight for the country's sovereignty.
