Difficult situation in the Tatra Mountains: TOPR rescue interventions
In recent days, rescuers from the Tatra Volunteer Search and Rescue (TOPR) have had to carry out many difficult operations in the high mountain regions. Changing weather and heavy tourist traffic mean that the number of calls for help is currently very high.
One of the most serious incidents reported by the duty rescuer was a sudden cardiac arrest of one of the tourists. This situation required an immediate response from medical services, as every minute in the mountains is crucial for saving human lives.
In addition to medical cases, rescuers often intervene in situations involving limb injuries. Tourists who are not properly prepared for hiking or who do not have the right footwear are more prone to accidents on slippery and rocky trails.
TOPR representatives remind everyone planning trips to always check weather forecasts and assess their physical capabilities. Proper preparation and having a charged phone with the "Ratunek" app are the basic safety rules in the Polish mountains.
