Fraud in the "Clean Air" program & missile servicing

In today's summary, we report on the detection of fraud in the home insulation subsidy program and a new service center for Patriot missiles in Poland. We also look at the scale of disinformation and new state investments in the technology sector.

People planning renovations with state funding should remain vigilant when choosing contractors. Authorities have detained two individuals suspected of defrauding nearly 800,000 euros (approx. 3.4 million PLN) from the "Clean Air" program. One of the detainees represented companies carrying out thermal modernization work paid for by this fund. The "Clean Air" program is a government subsidy system that helps homeowners finance the replacement of old furnaces and building insulation.

Poland will become a key service point for modern weaponry, which will impact the speed of repairs and the country's defense readiness. Our country, along with the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden, has signed an agreement to create a service center in Europe for Patriot PAC-3 missiles. This initiative aims to streamline the technical maintenance of air defense systems, which form the foundation of protecting Polish skies.

The strengthening of state structures coincides with growing concerns about information security. According to the "Disinformation through the eyes of Poles" report, 77 percent of residents have encountered intentionally false information. As many as 79 percent of respondents consider disinformation – that is, manipulating facts to mislead – a serious threat to state stability.

In the economic sector, new state investments in modern technologies have been announced. The state-owned bank BGK plans another investment in July as part of the Future Tech Poland fund, and two more such ventures are possible by the end of the year. This program aims to support the development of Polish technology companies until 2026.
