The European Union is building artificial intelligence "giga-factories": Poland wants to participate in the project
The European Union has officially launched a competition for the construction of seven so-called artificial intelligence "giga-factories." This is a massive investment aimed at strengthening the European technology sector and ensuring the continent greater independence in the field of modern digital solutions.
The project involves creating advanced computing infrastructure that will support the development of artificial intelligence models. Thanks to these investments, European companies and scientists will gain access to powerful technical resources, which is expected to accelerate innovation across many sectors of the economy.
Poland has expressed strong interest in participating in this undertaking. Government representatives emphasize that securing support for the construction of such a facility in our country would be an opportunity to develop the local IT sector and attract specialists from all over Europe.
The competition is open to member states, which must present their plans regarding the location and technical facilities. The selection of suitable sites will depend on the availability of energy, network infrastructure, and the research potential of a given region.
This initiative is part of a broader European Union strategy aimed at catching up with global leaders in the field of AI, such as the United States or China. Final decisions regarding the locations of the "giga-factories" will be made in the coming months, which will be a key moment for the future of European technology.
