Car fire in the tunnel on the Zakopianka route
On Thursday morning, a dangerous incident occurred on the S7 expressway, commonly known as the Zakopianka. Around 6:35 AM, a passenger car caught fire in the tunnel in the town of Skomielna Biała.
Emergency services, including the fire department and police, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Due to the fire, the tunnel was temporarily closed to traffic, which caused significant difficulties for drivers traveling towards Zakopane and Krakow.
Technical services and firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and secure the scene. The exact causes that led to the outbreak of the fire inside the tunnel are currently being determined.
Fortunately, according to preliminary information, no one sustained serious injuries as a result of this incident. The situation on the S7 road has been brought under control, and traffic in the tunnel returned to normal after some time.
