International success for Romanian innovation: .lumen collaborates with Toyota in Japan
The Romanian company .lumen, which specializes in advanced technologies, recently announced a major strategic collaboration in the international market. The Cluj-Napoca-based start-up will expand its operations into Japan, benefiting from the support of the Toyota Mobility Foundation for the development of its technological solutions.
The company's flagship project is the "Pedestrian Autonomous Driving" technology, an innovative system integrated into special glasses. This invention is designed to help visually impaired people navigate urban environments more easily and safely, offering them greater independence in their daily lives.
The partnership with the Toyota Mobility Foundation represents a recognition of the value of Romanian innovation on a global scale. Through this collaboration, the technology developed in Romania will be tested and adapted to meet the needs of users in Japan, a country recognized for its massive investments in robotics and mobility solutions.
This expansion marks an important step for the Romanian technology ecosystem. The success of .lumen demonstrates that locally developed ideas can attract the attention of major players in the automotive and technology industries, thereby contributing to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities worldwide.
In the coming period, the .lumen team will work closely with Japanese experts to integrate the technology into the Asian market. This stage is essential for refining the product and preparing for a large-scale launch, strengthening Romania's position as an emerging hub for innovation in the "deep tech" field.
