Five years of Taliban rule in Afghanistan: A country undergoing radical changes
Five years have passed since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan, taking full control of the country. This period has been marked by profound transformations that have radically changed the daily lives of Afghan citizens and the structure of society under the new leadership.
The Taliban regime has implemented a series of strict rules that influence all aspects of private and public life. Among the most discussed measures are the restrictions imposed on women, rules regarding divorce, and rigorous control over the use of technology, including smartphones, which are closely monitored by the authorities.
BBC journalists have documented the activities of key figures within the regime, observing how they are attempting to reshape the state according to their ideological vision. This approach has led to the increasing international isolation of Afghanistan, while the population faces major economic and social difficulties.
The situation in Afghanistan remains a subject of global interest, given the impact on human rights and regional stability. The international community continues to monitor developments in the country, while Afghan citizens try to adapt to the new realities imposed by the regime in Kabul.
