Air alert in northern Romania: A drone flew over Botoșani and Suceava counties
An unidentified drone entered Romania's airspace last night, causing concern among authorities and the population. The aircraft entered the country through Botoșani County and continued its trajectory to Suceava County, where it crashed in an uninhabited area.
As a safety measure, authorities issued Ro-Alert messages to residents in three counties, warning them of potential risks. Citizens were advised to remain indoors and avoid open areas until the checks carried out by intervention teams are completed.
The incident had a direct impact on school activities in the region. Several educational institutions in the areas covered by the alert decided to suspend classes to protect students and teaching staff until the situation is fully clarified by law enforcement.
Investigation teams immediately deployed to the crash site to recover the drone's debris and determine its origin. Romanian authorities continue to monitor the national airspace to prevent any further similar incidents and to ensure the security of citizens in border areas.
