Extreme heatwave in Romania: Real-feel temperatures have reached the 40-degree mark
Romania is currently facing an intense heatwave, which has brought extreme temperatures to several regions of the country. Meteorologists have warned that thermal discomfort is very high, affecting the daily activities of citizens.
At 1:00 PM, in several localities, the temperature felt by the human body reached the critical threshold of 40 degrees Celsius in the shade. Among the most affected areas are Turnu Măgurele, Lugoj, and Bechet, where the air has become difficult to breathe due to the excessive heat.
Authorities recommend that the population avoid going out during the hours when the sun is very strong, especially between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. It is also essential for people to consume large amounts of water and seek shaded or cool places to avoid health problems caused by heatstroke.
Health specialists advise the elderly, children, and those suffering from chronic conditions to be extremely cautious during this period. It is recommended to wear clothing made of natural materials, such as cotton, and to avoid drinks that contain excess caffeine or sugar.
High temperatures are expected to persist in the coming days, which is why the weather forecast should be followed closely. Citizens are asked to follow the official recommendations to safely get through this heatwave episode.
