Romanian firefighters return home after difficult mission in Serbia
A group of Romanian firefighters is returning to the country on Saturday, after spending the last two weeks in Serbia. They participated in an international aid mission, supporting Serbian authorities in the fight against wildfires that have severely affected the region recently.
Intervention teams from Romania worked side by side with local firefighters to extinguish outbreaks that occurred in hard-to-reach areas. Extreme weather conditions, characterized by high temperatures and strong winds, made the mission particularly difficult for everyone involved.
Romanian authorities decided to send this contingent to provide logistical and humanitarian support, demonstrating our country's solidarity in the face of natural disasters. The firefighters' efforts were essential for limiting damage and protecting local communities in the areas affected by the flames.
After the successful completion of the operations, the Romanian rescuers are returning to their bases in the country. This mission underscores the importance of international cooperation in managing emergency situations and the efficiency of the professional training of Romanian firefighters in a European context.
