Authorities' appeal to reduce electricity consumption during peak hours
The Romanian government has recently issued an appeal to citizens to reduce electricity consumption between 19:00 and 23:00. This measure comes in the context of a decline in domestic energy production, with authorities seeking solutions to maintain the stability of the national energy system during periods of high demand.
Officials recommend that Romanians avoid using large household appliances, such as washing machines or electric ovens, during the evening. This period is considered critical because household consumption reaches its peak, placing additional pressure on the power grid.
However, experts and analysts in the field point out that the impact of household consumption on the energy system is limited. Figures show that while saving energy is a responsible gesture, industrial and commercial consumption play a much more significant role in balancing the national grid.
Currently, authorities continue to monitor the energy production situation and the imports necessary to cover the deficit. Citizens are encouraged to stay informed regarding official recommendations, while long-term solutions are being sought to increase the country's production capacity.
