Opportunity for female entrepreneurs in Romania: EUR 75,000 European grants for tech startups
The European Commission has announced the launch of a new phase of the Women TechEU program for the 2026–2028 period. This initiative aims to support women leading "deep tech" startups by providing non-reimbursable funding to help these companies grow and innovate at a European level.
In total, the Commission has allocated a budget of 12 million euros for this project. The funds will be distributed to 160 selected startups, with each benefiting from a grant worth 75,000 euros. The program focuses on advanced technologies that require significant investment in research and development.
This news is encouraging for the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Romania. In the previous edition of the program, two Romanian startups managed to secure funding, demonstrating the high potential of female entrepreneurs in our country within the technology sector.
Women TechEU offers not only financial support but also mentoring and networking opportunities for participants. The main objective is to reduce the gender gap in the technology sector and encourage innovation in complex fields, such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, or green energy.
Interested entrepreneurs in Romania are encouraged to follow the official announcements of the European Commission to learn the details regarding the application process. This initiative represents an important opportunity for local startups to access essential resources for growth in the international market.
