Government allocates over 135 million lei for air traffic safety
The Romanian Government made an important decision for the aviation sector on Friday, approving the allocation of 135.622 million lei from the budgetary reserve fund. This financial measure is intended for the Romanian Air Traffic Services Administration (ROMATSA).
The main purpose of this funding is to ensure the continuity of air navigation services within our country's territory. The funds are necessary for the institution to carry out its activities under optimal conditions, while complying with all international safety standards.
ROMATSA plays an essential role in managing civil air traffic, providing guidance services for all aircraft overflying Romania's airspace. An interruption of these services could cause major problems for air transport, which is why the financial stability of the autonomous administration is a priority for the authorities.
This amount will cover the institution's current needs, thereby ensuring the uninterrupted operation of monitoring systems and air traffic controller teams. The decision comes in a context where flight safety is a subject of utmost importance at the European level.
Through this allocation from the state budget, the Government guarantees that air traffic over Romania will remain safe and efficient for all passengers and airlines that use our routes.
