Over 100 drones detected near Romania's airspace
Authorities and experts in Romania are closely monitoring the situation at the border after more than 100 drones were detected in the last 96 hours in the proximity of the national airspace. These devices, used in the context of regional conflicts, were observed during surveillance missions carried out outside Romanian territory.
Radu Miruță, a representative in the field, highlighted the importance of these detections, describing them as a strong signal regarding the security of the region. Constant monitoring is carried out with the help of NATO partners, including through air patrol missions conducted by Spanish pilots stationed in Romania.
The presence of these drones near Romania's borders has led to an increased mobilization of defense forces. Allied pilots are prepared to intervene rapidly to ensure the integrity of the airspace and to prevent any incident that could affect the safety of citizens.
The situation remains under strict observation, with Romanian authorities collaborating permanently with NATO structures to assess the risks. The main objective of these actions is to maintain stability and protect the eastern border of the North Atlantic Alliance in the current geopolitical context.
