PSD prepares to form a new government majority
The Social Democratic Party (PSD) has officially announced that it is ready to begin negotiations for the formation of a new parliamentary majority. Party representatives maintain that the experience gained while in government gives them the necessary capacity to ensure the country's political stability in the coming period.
Sorin Grindeanu, the first deputy chairman of the PSD, stated that his political party does not intend to remain passive in the current political context. He emphasized that the PSD wishes to assume the responsibility of governing, considering itself a mature partner capable of managing the economic and social challenges that Romania is facing.
The statements come at a time when the Romanian political scene is undergoing a reconfiguration phase. PSD leaders insist on the idea that stability is the main priority, which is why the party is seeking solutions to build solid alliances in Parliament capable of supporting a coherent governing program.
In the coming period, official discussions between the leaders of the parliamentary parties are expected to establish the future structure of the executive branch. It remains to be seen which political partners will accept the PSD's proposals and how the new majority that will lead Romania in the months to come will take shape.
