The Romanian state launches a funding program for energy storage batteries
The Ministry of Environment has announced the launch of a new program through the Environmental Fund, dedicated exclusively to financing batteries for electricity storage. This initiative supports prosumers, individuals who produce renewable energy, and its main goal is to increase energy efficiency at the national level.
The budget allocated for this project is 400 million lei. The funds will be used to help consumers install storage systems, allowing them to store the energy produced during the day to use it at times when photovoltaic panels are not generating electricity.
Currently, many prosumers face difficulties in managing surplus energy. By installing high-performance batteries, they will become more independent from the national grid and will be able to consume their own sustainably produced energy, thereby reducing their monthly utility bills.
Authorities estimate that this program will contribute significantly to the stabilization of the national energy system. By storing energy, the pressure on the power grid decreases, and consumers benefit from a more secure and predictable power source in the long term.
